Open-world Burnout in Paradise City: you race, crash, and take other cars apart on one connected map of roads and takeovers.

About This Game

Burnout Paradise Remastered is a racing game set in one city you never leave. Paradise City is a road network: highways, ramps, and intersections you learn like a neighborhood. There is no loading a new track for every event. You drive to the start, or you stumble into a takeover because you were already speeding.

Burnout's joke is still violence as a race tool. You do not only finish first. You smash rivals, boost off wrecks, and treat a crash as a restart with style. Events sit on the map — races, chases, showtime wrecks — and the city is the menu.

The remaster is that city with a cleaner coat. The playground is the whole map, not a single circuit packed as a demo. You learn billboards and shortcuts the way you learn a hometown. The pleasure is a good line through traffic and a take-down you felt coming. That is the session.

Pros

  • One city is the whole campaign: you drive to the next event
  • Take-downs and crashes are the sport, not a penalty you avoid
  • Takeovers and ramps make free roam worth doing between races
  • The remaster keeps the Paradise map readable at speed

Cons

  • If you wanted licensed circuits and a serious sim, this is still arcade wreckage
  • Learning the city takes time before events feel nearby
  • The joke is crashing; quiet touring is not the point
